Yoga is said to boost your strength, increase flexibility, and increase strength and tone. One of our fitness experts had some yoga routines to have you feeling great! If you are familiar with the practice of yoga, here are a few routines to integrate into your day. Getting back into an exercise routine is also easier than you think.

Morning Wake-up & Warm-up Yoga Routine

Nothing will boost your day better than a morning routine! You can make a quick yoga flow a part of that. When you warm-up and stretch in the morning, it releases tension from the night before and truly awakens your body to the day ahead!

Here are some short and simple ways to awaken into your day:

  • Box breath (3 rounds)
  • Neck rolls
  • Arm stretches
  • Ankle stretches
  • Half flow

Yin Yoga Poses for stress relief/relaxation

Stress is the number one problem in our society today, and there are many ways we can manage it. One of the most powerful methods I have found useful is the practice of Yin yoga. This form of yoga is slow, with long holds where we focus on slow breathing and stillness.

I will take you through my top 5 (or 3) Yin poses that help me find calm in the face of stressful emotions:

  • Ragdoll
  • Butterfly forward fold
  • Laying spinal Twist
  • Supported Bridge
  • Laying supported star pose

Warrior Woman Yoga

Heard of power poses? Well, they are actually a thing! Warrior poses are just as powerful. Placing yourself in these poses is your body literally signaling to your brain that you are capable and powerful, that you are ready to take on any task at hand with all of your energy.

To combine this with affirmations creates a shift in your internal dialogue. We’re going to be repeating affirmations along with our warrior poses in our sequence.

As a warrior woman, you want to embrace your power, embody it throughout all tasks, and keep it with you instead of giving it away.

We’re going to flow through a short warrior sequence to feel energized and empowered!

  • Starting off with sun salutations
  • Warrior 1 into humble warrior (both sides) Affirmation: I don’t sweat the small stuff
  • Warrior 2 into reverse warrior (both sides) Affirmation: I can. I will. End of story.
  • A dancer poses into warrior 3 (both sides) Affirmation: I feed my spirit. I train my body. I focus my mind. It’s my time.
