Women’s Health

You have probably heard the saying, “Women are from Venus and men are from Mars.” As a woman myself, I know that this is true. But just because we are different does not mean that our health is any less important. We all have to take care of ourselves and understanding yourself better will lead you in the right direction for a healthier future!

It is not easy being a woman. Not only are we more susceptible to certain diseases, but our symptoms differ and often go undiagnosed for longer periods of time. Women constantly have new battles in maintaining good health or seeking out solutions when they begin feeling unwell.

Common Health Issues To Look Out For

1. Breast Cancer

One of the most common cancers that affects females is breast cancer. One in eight women will develop breast cancer during her lifetime. A statistic which doesn’t even account for those with a personal or direct connection to someone diagnosed with it before them. Performing self-exams regularly as well as going for mammograms yearly will help in making more proactive choices.

2. Endometriosis

Endometriosis is a condition that negatively impacts the lives of millions. It can generate chronic, debilitating pain and infertility for many women around the world. There are treatments available to reduce or even eliminate these symptoms with minimally invasive procedures. The most common symptom is painful periods. Other symptoms include fatigue or exhaustion from day-to-day activities even if you do not exercise much. This due to bleeding on your brain which slowly takes away too many nutrients for energy production.

HIV/AIDS is a global health crisis that affects everyone. Today, the majority of HIV-affected people are women and girls worldwide – accounting for nearly half of all adults living with HIV or AIDS on treatment globally. Yet many people do not know anything about this disease because it does not affect them directly in their daily lives. This issue has been neglected since its discovery more than 30 years ago, but if we continue to ignore such an important matter, then our society will crumble as other diseases arise from less attention being paid to preventative measures.

4. Unplanned Pregnancies and Infertility

A growing number of adults are living with unplanned pregnancies and a host of infertility related problems. According to a study conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, approximately 50% of pregnancies are unplanned. Though this is an alarming statistic, there are many things you can do to avoid pregnancy if that is your goal.

Improving Women’s Health Challenges

The challenges women face in the healthcare sphere are many and varied. And improving their health, preventing issues before they happen, and giving them access to quality care is necessary if we want to create a world where all people can live without fear of illness or disease. This will be an important step towards addressing these issues head-on. It is up to us as individuals and organizations to work together to create change that benefits everyone!
